Hi! I'm Winnie and I do things. After typing my first detective novel on a typewriter and tearing it to pieces aged twelve, I decided to become a photojournalist and started studying photography and motion design in 2011. In 2013, I moved to the University of the Arts in Berlin to study fine arts under the lecturer of art in construction, Ina Weber. In 2018 I graduated with a focus on installation and new media as well as space & environment. Already during my studies I was particularly interested in fluxus and institutional critique in terms of art history, which led to my taster studies in political science and sociology, in which I delved especially into the sociology of space. In 2014 I began working as a stage designer while still studying art. Especially in immersive, as well as participatory theater formats, I was able to run free in my fascination with the sociology of space and material science. In 2016 the idea of institutional critique set in again, and the question of how to conceive a contextualization of theater outside of subsidized theater as well as the black box. Alongside participatory, neighborhood-based projects like urban gardening, I started experimenting with online games and virtual reality to expand the notion of the stage and founded the label trix, under which artists* create (site-specific) virtual reality experiences and engage with content for a new form of storytelling. In my work as scenographer, I am always concerned with the spatial relational order of living beings and social goods in places (cf. m.löw) - regardless of whether these were constructed fictitiously for film, theater, online eg. or arise through urban enactment.
